    Tractor Supply Company is investing in its indirect procurement team and has some exciting, strategic roles available.

     

    This particular key position is responsible for optimizing the IT spend for Tractor Supply Company including hardware, software and telecommunications and related support services.  The successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and execute an overall 3-year strategic sourcing roadmap.  This will include strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost reduction and project management activities, in addition to continuously improving and automating all related workflows.

    This role will report directly to the Director, Indirect Procurement and will also play an essential role within the overall Indirect Procurement team.  Each team member will have an opportunity to develop experience outside their specific spend categories and participate in or lead a diversity of continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and adjacent functions across the organization especially since technology is a strategic thread that runs throughout Tractor Supply Company.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop a 3-year strategic roadmap with key stakeholders. Key aspects of the roadmap include spend category optimization, driving  procurement results across stakeholder initiated projects, workflow simplification and automation and benchmarking and incorporating associated learnings.
    • Create and implement spend category strategies to optimize costs, quality and business efficiencies, while mitigating undue risk.
    • Perform category management activities including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract administration and performance improvement.
    • Facilitate implementation of procurement continuous improvement initiatives within the category to improve business performance. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors and product innovations. 
    • Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to deliver maximum results and to create future state processes, protocol and policy.
    • Leverage Gartner top quadrant software solutions to manage eSourcing activities such as RFI’s, RFP’s, Reverse Auctions and spend analytics. With stakeholders, develop specifications and other requirements necessary to get the most out of competitive market landscapes.
    • Research, audit, investigate, and qualify existing and prospective suppliers base on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and financial wherewithal.
    • Provide assistance, instructions and information to stakeholders, suppliers and prospective suppliers on TSC purchasing policies and procedures.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve category or supplier related opportunities to improve, particularly those that may impact store operations or the bottom line.

    Qualifications

    Experience:  

    • A minimum of 5-7 years of IT focused strategic sourcing and/or complex negotiation experience.

     

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field required.  Master’s degree is a plus.

     

    Other knowledge, skills or abilities:

    • Ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with procurement systems is a plus. 
    • Knowledge of business principles, contract law and various IT related strategies
    • Applied knowledge of spend analytics and how to effectively leverage and develop procurement and customer centric reporting.
