    The Architect, IT Supply Chain Applications is responsible for creating and maintaining technology architecture and design to support marketing software applications and hardware.  Partnering with cross-functional business teams, this role provides technical leadership and ensures that marketing applications and technology align with strategic objectives and support the growth of the company.  Responsible for the delivery of high level quality Supply Chain application solutions from inception to deployment.

    Responsibilities

    1. Partner with business and IT cross functional teams providing technical leadership to translate business needs into technical designs. Responsible for the overall application architecture to include availability, stability, scalability, security, and recoverability.
    2. Provide architectural oversight for the development of prototypes and setting technology direction deliverables that are consistent with defined architecture principles, standards, methodologies and best practices.
    3. Lead through collaboration across the organization to support and govern the introduction of new technologies. Review, align, and drive technology plans with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes.
    4. Define and promote processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.  
    5. Mentor team members and provide technology leadership.
    6. Develop and maintain artifacts in the Architecture Library.
    7. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and market trends within the retail space and makes recommendations to align with the business strategic initiatives. Develop and maintain the technology roadmaps that drive innovation within the organization.

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years’ experience in Information Technology.
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in retail software architecture in the development and support of Supply Chain/Distribution systems (e.g., WMS, WES, WCS, TMS, YMS, etc.).
    • Experience in application support and project/solution delivery

     

    Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

     

    Professional Certifications: TOGAF or any other proven architecture methodology certification. 

     

    Other knowledge, skills or abilities:

    • Expert knowledge in various Supply Chain concepts, data marts, OLAP, logical and physical models, and dimensional modeling.
    • Demonstrated experience designing or developing database platforms including DB2 and Oracle, architecting and documenting complex large scale systems incorporating packaged and custom applications.
    • Experience in service-oriented architecture and familiarity using services to capture upstream events passed via an enterprise service bus into a data warehouse.
    • Expert knowledge and experience of various data staging approaches for integrating data, persisting data for recovery/audit and loading a data warehouse.

     

    Other preferences:

    • Experience with advanced Logistics concepts and technologies, such as waveless picking, order streaming, autobag machines, robotics, RFID, material handling systems (e.g., sorters, conveyors).
    • Experience with Manhattan, JDA, SAP or other top tier WMS and TMS solutions.
    • Some exposure to data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and reporting solutions.
