    The Senior IT Build and Release Coordinator is responsible for the scheduling, coordination and communication surrounding deployment of code over multiple environments including development, QA, stage and production for multiple teams, including Technical Shared Services and Application Development. The candidate should have knowledge of Build & Deployment, Releases, DevOps processes and best practice of release management in support of a software development team. 


    • Establishes and maintains release schedules. Reports on the deployment status of items that are part of each release.  Ensures release documentation meets compliance requirements.
    • Leads deployments through the production change management process. Directs and/or performs production deployments with members of other teams.
    • Establishes processes to promote managing deliverables to development, QA, stage, and production environments.
    • Tracks and communicates release risks and dependencies.
    • Evaluates release readiness, participates in Go / No-Go process.
    • Ensures operational support readiness of release and appropriate training has been completed if required.
    • Leads initiatives to improve the build and deployment process. Makes recommendations to improve quality, reporting, reduce deployment time and improve quality.
    • Participates in assessing environment readiness to support releases.
    • Works with teams to confirm deployments are completed successfully and are compliant with TSC established standards.
    • Tracks performance and trends, escalating issues as necessary.
    • Coordinates release activities with other teams (internal and external), partnering with the Change Management group to ensure a smooth and trouble-free roll out of releases.


    • Bachelor's degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 5-9 years equivalent work experience.
    • Strong experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
    • Experience coordinating release process in a large organization or transferable skill.
    • Experience in Retail is preferred.




    • Strong ability to work independently, work in a fast paced environment, and manage workload prioritization to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction.
    • Demonstrated collaboration skills with the ability to handle conflict and to work with a distributed team.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Experience with Application and Data Integration principles.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Experience with continuous integration/ continuous deployment methodology.
    • Knowledge of Enterprise Scheduling tools and Dev Ops methodology.
    • Knowledge of SQL/PLSQL and scripting.
    • Knowledge of source code tools (Subversion, GIT, Clearcase, Spectrum).
    • Knowledge of understanding of build automation tools (Ant, Ivy, Maven, Hudson).
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
    • Project management skills a plus
    • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to use proven problem solving approaches to most solutions.
