    The Senior Data Analyst has a focus on IT Marketing. This position is responsible for strategic design, implement and support data solutions, data warehouses, data marts, and data stores, while ensuring high levels of data availability. This position is also responsible for supporting reporting tools and development languages.

    Responsibilities

    1. Develop and/or configure, build, review and unit test reporting and software/solutions.
    2. Meet with technical leads, architects and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, ensure the system is implemented as designed and in adherence to the implementation guidelines.
    3. Work directly with business partners to capture and refine business requirements into core system capabilities.
    4. Assist developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and validating Marketing Reporting solutions that meet business requirements.
    5. Responsible for designing test cases and supporting test case execution.
    6. Work directly with the business users to provide support including the design and development of customer training materials, and conducting customer training sessions.
    7. Work with Enterprise teams to ensure changes are properly documented, communicated, audited, and deployed in compliance with established procedures.
    8. Participate in 24x7 on call rotations.
    9. Mentor team members on new technologies in area of expertise.
    10. Consult with the business to provide an understanding of the pace, direction, and needs of business partners

    Qualifications

    Experience: 5-9 years’ experience developing and supporting as a data analyst role that includes business intelligence tools. Retail industry experience preferred. Must be expert-level with Tableau (3-5 years).

     

    Education:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer systems design or computer science.  Any combination of education and experience will be considered.

     

    Other knowledge, skills or abilities:

    • Knowledge on a variety of data analytics projects
    • Hands-on knowledge with BI tools and reporting software (Tableau, MS Power BI, MS Excel)
    • Knowledge of analytical tools and languages (R, SAS, Alteryx, Mahout)
    • Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards and products as required is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
    • Strong data analysis, data architecture, data segmentation, and data modeling experience and familiarity with data modeling design tools (e.g. Erwin, PowerDesigner, ERStudio, etc.)
    • Strong understanding of Business Intelligence tools, including Business Objects.
    • Hands-on experience with the Hadoop stack (e.g. Map Reduce, Sqoop, Pig, Hive, Hbase, Flume)
    • 4 years database development experience, writing ANSI SQL and working with database platforms such as Netezza, Oracle, or SQL Server
