    Job Purpose

     

    This position is responsible for managing the development and deployment of Websphere Commerce and contributing to the overall architecture of the eCommerce landscape. This requires comprehensive knowledge of eCommerce products and their deployment. Additional responsibilities include technical leadership, monitoring other team members, and leading projects.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Manages the development and deployment of Websphere Commerce and contributes to the overall architecture of the eCommerce landscape
    • Allocates resources and supervises direct reports
    • Hires, develops, and motivates assigned staff
    • Cultivates, disseminates, and enforces functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices
    • Manages and maintains multiple Non-Production and Production environments, ensuring that these environments are properly set up, configured, and available for each release/project as scheduled. Puts procedures and best practices in place to ensure stability, reliability, and optimal performance of the production environment
    • Performs capacity planning and adequate performance testing on all environments, with emphasis on the production environment. Plans for peak season readiness
    • Reviews and analyzes existing applications and system effectiveness and efficiency, and then develops strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
    • Researches and makes recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts
    • Assesses and cultivates long-term strategic goals for IT area of responsibility in conjunction with department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders 
    • Manages the triage process of complex build/deployment problems, release and environment issues, daily content issues, and bugs in a multi-component environment
    • Determines the readiness of each release based on release criteria; quality of release, production environment readiness, training and support plans, rollout and backout plans, and risk management plan

    Qualifications

    Experience: 

    • 6+ years of progressive experience in eCommerce infrastructure and eCommerce tools (IBM WebSphere Commerce suites, ATG, Hybris, Demandware) required
    • 6+ years of platform building and release management experience on eCommerce platform and tools, IBM WebSphere Commerce 6.x/7.x/8.x versions

     

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems and Business Management or equivalent work experience

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Training/Systems

     

    • Comprehensive knowledge of eCommerce tools (IBM WebSphere Commerce suites, ATG, Hybris, Demandware)
    • Comprehensive knowledge of version control systems (preferably GIT and SVN), incident tracking tools (JIRA) and build/deployment tools (Jenkins, Nexus, Anthill Pro, Udeploy)
    • Advanced knowledge of monitoring scripts to check the systems/ server health
    • Advanced knowledge of performance tuning of WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Commerce suite
    • Knowledge of configuring Tealeaf, IBM Keynotes, Google analytics preferred
    • Advanced knowledg of LINUX/UNIX
    • Knowledge of tools such as Ant, Maven, SVN, GIT/Stash, Jenkins/Hudson, Sonar, Ivy, Nexus, Clover, FindBugs
    • Advanced ability to establish effective process and prioritizing across projects in a fast-paced, complex environment
    • Advanced ability to define process and procedures to manage the release cycles for both Major feature releases and cycles of Minor Releases
    • Advanced ability to work with rapid, overlapping product release cycles as well as a continuous Integration and delivery process
    • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology
    • Advanced ability to build, maintain and monitor IT systems and applications
    • Advanced ability to manage third-party vendors
    • Advanced knowledge of java based application builds and deployments
    • Superior ability to drive issues to closure and work well within a deadline-driven environment
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
    • Superior ability to work independently, work in a fast paced environment, and manage workload prioritization to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction
    • Superior critical thinking skills with the ability to develop completely new problem-solving approaches and formulate innovative solutions
    • Demonstrated collaboration skills with the ability to handle conflict and to work with a distributed team
    • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
