    This position is responsible for administering Tractor Supply’s processes and procedures with respect to its tax-exempt customers to ensure the Company is in compliance with state and local laws and regulations. Duties include reviewing tax exemption information and documentation from customers for accuracy and completeness and resolving any related issues regarding in a timely manner.


    • Review, validate, and maintain customer sales tax exemption certificates.  Maintain and manage both internal and off-site records in conjunction with company record retention policies. Update and maintain tax exemption status of customers across multiple systems. Provide accurate, timely responses to inquiries from TSC customers and team members regarding exemption certificate and other sales tax related questions.
    • Conduct technical research related to exemption certificate requirements, evaluate internal controls and processes in relation to those requirements, determine impact on the organization, summarize and communicates those findings to management and key personnel.
    • Perform special projects, which may include but is not limited to, gathering and analyzing data for audit defense, reverse audits, implementation projects, and performing other indirect tax compliance activity when and as requested.
    • Build and maintain relationships with Tractor Supply internal business departments, external software provider(s) and consultants, and Tractor Supply customers to ensure complete and timely flow of information needed for effective resolution of audit and customer service-related issues.


    Experience: 2 years’ experience in sales tax required.  Exposure to tax-exempt customer processes preferred.   


    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.


    Professional Certifications: None.


    Other knowledge, skills or abilities:

    • Proficiency in MS Office; Advanced skills in Excel preferred.

    Minimum 2 years Project Management experience.
