    This position is responsible for reviewing and driving technology plans to align with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes.  This requires comprehensive knowledge in architecting and documenting complex large scale systems incorporating packaged and custom applications using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) or ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), API’s, EDI, and various other real time technologies.  Additional responsibilities include technical leadership, mentoring other team members, and leading projects. For this role, we are looking for someone who is WebMethods subject matter expert.


    • Stays abreast of emerging technologies and market trends within the retail space and makes recommendations to align with the business strategic initiatives
    • Develops and maintains the technology roadmaps that drive innovation within the organization
    • Translates business requirements into technical designs that ensure availability, stability, reusability, scalability, security, and recoverability
    • Accountable for the quality of the implemented solutions
    • Works with business partners to ensure design meets desired outcomes
    • Provides oversight for the development of prototypes and setting technology direction
    • Defines and promotes processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies
    • Responsible for creating deliverables that are consistent with defined architecture principles, standards, methodologies and best practices
    • Develops and maintains artifacts in the Architecture Library
    • Governs the introduction of new technologies
    • Reviews, aligns, and drives technology plans with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes




    • 10+ years experience in Information Technology
    • 5+ years of experience in retail software architecture in the development and support of a Retail POS environment and ecommerce platform
    • Retail Experience is preferred
    • Must have significant WebMethods experience to be considered a viable candidate for this position


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field, Masters preferred
    • Technical Certification in related field is preferred




    • Superior Business Intelligence understanding of data warehousing concepts, data marts, OLAP, logical and physical models, and dimensional modeling
    • Superior knowledge of the various SQL platforms including DB2 and Oracle.
    • Superior ability architecting and documenting complex large scale systems incorporating packaged and custom applications
    • Technical and analytical ability in any programming language (Java is preferred)
    • Strong knowledge of XML technologies and integration is preferred
    • Strong knowledge of SQL (especially) and NoSQL technologies is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of EDI processes and standards (ANSI, EDIFACT).
    • Experience with software development lifecycle methodology (SDLC).
    • Superior ability in conceptual, logical and physical data modeling through use of a data modeling tool
    • Superior knowledge in Encryption/Decryption data implementation
    • Superior understanding of various data staging approaches for integrating data, persisting data for recovery/audit and loading a data warehouse
    • Superior knowledge of enterprise level service-oriented architecture and familiarity using services to capture upstream events passed via an enterprise service bus into a data warehouse
    • Superior planning skills with an ability to lead, teach and mentor the team in ETL best practices
    • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work independently, work in a fast paced environment, and manage workload prioritization to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction
    • Demonstrated collaboration skills with the ability to handle conflict and to work with a distributed team
    • Superior critical thinking skills with the ability to develop completely new problem-solving approaches and formulate innovative solutions
