    Job Purpose

     

    *JNCIP-ENT REQUIRED*

     

    This position is responsible for designing, engineering and supporting a complex enterprise Local Area (LAN), Wide Area (WAN) and Wireless (WLAN) network. This requires advanced knowledge in managing Cisco routers, switches, network load balancers and wireless access points, as well as layer 3 routing protocols including OSPF, RIP, BGP and IGRP. Additional responsibilities include technical leadership, mentors other team members, and leads projects.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Works with both internal and external customers to understand business requirements and needs
    • Designs maintainable solutions to meet business and compliance requirements through creation and application of best practices to ensure consistency, maintainability and compliance

    • Participates in 24x7 on call rotations

    • Deploys new solutions and configurations

    • Ensures service availability through creation and delivery of KPI reports

    • Maintains and manages technical relationships with vendors

    • Discovers current technical standards and best practices (R&D)

    • Provides technical leadership, mentors other team members, and leads projects

    • Deploys patches, updates, and configuration changes

    • Creates and documents engineering standards

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or electrical engineering.

     

    Experience: 5-9 years experience in networking and telecommunications. Any combination of education and experience will be considered.

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Training/Systems

    • JNCIP-ENT *REQUIRED*, will consider JNCIS-ENT if working toward the former
    • Technical Certification CCNA, CCNP or CCIE nice to have, but not preferred
    • Participates in 24x7 on call rotations

    • Retail Experience is preferred

    • Advanced knowledge in enterprise LANs, WANs, WLANs including routers, switches, network load balancers and wireless access points

    • Advanced knowledge in layer 3 routing protocols: OSPF, RIP, BGP and IGRP

    • Advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocol troubleshooting ability, specifically with using protocol analyzers and/or sniffers

    • Advanced knowledge of low voltage cabling and standards

    • Advanced knowledge of Payment Card Industry (PCI) network requirements adherence

    • Advanced knowledge of firewalls, data encryption, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, and other industry-standard techniques and practices

    • Advanced TCP/IP packet analysis ability

    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

    • Advanced ability to work independently, work in a fast paced environment, and manage workload prioritization to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction

    • Advanced critical thinking skills with the ability to use proven problem-solving approaches to most solutions

    • Demonstrated collaboration skills with the ability to handle conflict and to work with a distributed team

    • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
